The Smart Reports tool is an Excel Add-in that works with QuickBooks reports. It is intended for the QuickBooks user who needs to update QuickBooks reports for presentation and/or periodic reporting purposes. It allows you to quickly produce highly customized monthly reports, picking up where QuickBooks leaves off.

The tool uses saved settings called profiles. Profiles can be applied to a QuickBooks report multiple times. Once they’re setup, you can then create the same modified reports based on a QuickBooks source report. This can save many hours of manual work per reporting period.

· Merge two or more similar QuickBooks reports.

· Move rows, merge rows, and delete rows by label.

· Round numbers to any degree of precision from $1 and up ($1, $10, $20, $100, …)

· Add % of Income numbers to single and multi-column Profit & Loss statements.

· Rename report rows & columns.

· Customize report headers & footers.

· Split columns across departments, by row: You can create a departmental P&L or Balance Sheet, where each account is custom-split across departments based on a percentage of the total.

· Save many different Profiles, so different settings can be applied to different report types or similar reports from different companies.

· Auto-delete rows where the amounts are all 0.00.

The tool works with Excel 2000 - 2007 for Windows and any version of QuickBooks for Windows that has Excel export integration.
